BREATHING DROP | An immersive Installation
in-cosmetics Global | Amsterdam, Netherlands | April 2025

Scent is the companion of breath—the rhythm of life we often forget in our digitally, hyper- connected, digital world of accelerated sensations.
IN-COSMETICS GLOBAL 2025, AMSTERDAM
In April 2025, at in-cosmetics global in Amsterdam, Swiss fragrance house LUZI unveiled more than a scent collection. Alongside their newest line, OFF FIRE, they introduced an evocative new sensory form: the BREATHING DROP, created in collaboration with artist and experience designer Annabelle Schneider.
Inspired by the quiet intimacy of a single drop of body lotion, the BREATHING DROP is a sculptural vessel of softness and breath. At first glance, it is simple and serene—but within its tactile curves and gentle motion lies an invitation:
To pause. To reconnect. To feel.
A living, breathing sculpture, the DROP softly hugs its pedestal. It slowly inhales and exhales, echoing the rhythm of breath—of life. Guided by scent, rhyhm, sound, and light, it becomes a poetic preview of what’s to come.

A TEASER OF WHAT AWAITS DURING ART BASEL IN BASEL, SWITZERLAND 2025
This installation marks the first glimpse of LUZI and Annabelle Schneider’s deeper collaboration—culminating in BREATHE WITH ME, a full-scale immersive installation debuting during Art Basel in Basel (17–21 June 2025).
At the heart of this teaser: FOVET, a fragrance composed by LUZI’s perfumers Daniela Marty and Maurus Bachmann, encased within the sculptural soul of the DROP. Visitors in Amsterdam were invited not just to see or smell—but to experience scent as an emotional architecture.
In a world overstimulated by visuals and speed, BREATHE WITH ME began as a slowed-down act of resistance. A spatial kind of activism grounded in human-centered design and deep sensory awareness, it asks us to reclaim presence through softness, rhythm, and care.
WHY THIS MATTERS
In today’s hyper-connected, hyper-visual world, scent is often the forgotten sense. Yet fragrance is the silent companion to our breath—a sensual soundtrack to life. A portal to memory. An anchor to the body.
With the BREATHING DROP, we invite visitors into a new kind of space:
A cocoon. A moment of stillness. A gentle rebellion against the fast and fleeting.
It’s the beginning of something deeper. And this June, it evolves—returning home to Switzerland, where BREATHE WITH ME will fully unfold during Art Basel at Singerhaus in the heart of Basel.

"...In this instability, we must build spaces that hold us.
Not made of concrete—but of air. Of fabric. Of softness.
BREATHE WITH ME is not a space. It is a state.
A reminder that even formlessness deserves form.
A scent. A sound. A shelter of resilience."
